Fibre Interphases

ATL provides interphase coatings, such as pyrolytic carbon, silicon nitride and boron nitride for ceramic fibres used in CMCs. These interphases can provide protection to the fibres, improve wetting and promote fibre pull-out behaviour.

SiC/SiC CVI

Recent interest in ceramic composites has meant that ATL is perfectly positioned to utilise decades of chemical vapour deposition (CVD) experience to densify SiC/SiC composites via chemical vapour infiltration (CVI).

Fibre Processing

ATL has the ability to process ceramic fibres in a multitude of ways, including: the application of sizing, unwinding and rewinding onto spools, filament winding onto complex moulds and future continuous, reel-to-reel, fibre coating procedures.

Novel Matrices
